ADHDcast EPISODE VIII – Xbox Flub

Oh dear. Here we are again discussing everything geek on… ADHDcast!

On this blessed occasion, John Waynick, Brandi Shade, Garrett Williams and Mark Stantz are talking to me for some reason; toward the end, we are also joined briefly by Aedylon Issyrol for the sole purpose of being so metal that he’s UNmetal. Topics include Xbox One and the many mistakes it encompasses, Kickstarter, 3D printers (again), waiting impatiently for your order from a shirt-a-day website to arrive, thrift store finds, Chick-Fil-A versus The Salvation Army, dropping sensitive electronics into beverages multiple times, Bruce Willis, solid state drives, Facebook drama, directions for commuting in Fayetteville, Arkansas (as if they would be useful to anybody), the failings of Garth Brooks, texting badly, whether or not Tom Schalk and Elsbeth are the same person, the color clear, why Maynard James Keenan needs to go back to formula, Joker Poker, awesomeness, and cars growing on trees and coming out of dispensers. Also featuring Sex Advice with Shade!

Unfortunately, to get to this dismal game we need to suffer through the pre-show credits:

  • Some of the *free* music utilized in this podcast can be found on Kahvi.org [Data Rebel]. Also, Mindphaser, Scott Taylor, and “Fast Turtle” by Anamanaguchi, which can be found on Archive.org.
  • Also, the song “Improbability of Salvation” by Jordan Martyr was used with permission from the artist. Go give him money NOW
  • Things mentioned: the (now ended) Name of the Wind playing cards Kickstarter page. Also visit Patrick Rothfuss’s website, and the Albino Dragon homepage.
  • The quality is almost decent this time.  Mark spent a lot of time clicking, typing and rustling papers (sometimes crumpling them up inches from the microphone). Every effort was made to compensate. Also, Mark is going to be dragged out behind the shed and beaten with a garden rake to learn him good.
  • Any questions/suggestions/comments can be submitted to diadae at mail dotkom (that’s an email address I’m spelling out phoenetically to avoid spammbotz), or posted in comments on this blog post. Even if you have audio questions or comments, go right ahead; I can splice them in. This includes questions for any guests, which I’ll bring up next time they’re on the show (if ever… though it’s likely they will be).
  • Don’t forget that you can subscribe to my YouTube channel to catch VIDEO versions of the interviews! (WARNING: the clips are unedited and will likely take longer to watch than the audio-only versions that I condense down into my podcast releases.)
  • This podcast is NSFW for language and crude humor. At some point, we’re talking about sticking something into a USB port that clearly doesn’t go there.
  • This episode clocks in at just barely under 2 hours.
  • ADHDcast is released under Creative Commons.

Put your thinking caps on and take your coat off and hang it in the closet as you thrill to these three effervescent formats:

And there we are! Prepare to love us! LOOOOOVE us!

ADHDcast EPISODE VII – Schalk And Awe

Ever wanted to hear an argument between Batman, Christopher Walken and Yoda? That unfortunate time is now, because the previously-mentioned talents of Tom Schalk will be bared on… ADHDcast!

To-nite, my guests are The Talented Mr. Schalk, along with John Waynick and Mark Stantz, and we shall be yammering on about Star Wars, varieties of liquor, the pros and cons of reviving Family Guy, clases de español, huevos de dragón, guitars, swords, the great and powerful General Tso, liquid marijuana, Game of Thrones versus A Game Of Thrones, Tony Jay versus Tim Curry, reading at funerals, minds being blown by the Street Fighter II: The Animation soundtrack, the crumpets (or not), Tom (not Schalk) abandoning Myspace in favor of Facebook, green thumbs, holding back the bastard, Spotify, and eating toast topped with Fruity Pebbles and mayonnaise.

However, before we get to its awesome might, let’s float out some credits:

  • Most of the *free* music utilized in this podcast can be found on Kahvi.org, including but not limited to Ciaran ByrneMigloJE, and Global Express OSC. Also, “Airbase” by Anamanaguchi, which can be found on Archive.org.
  • Also, the song “InkYou” by H2 (featuring Eon) and “Grand Illusion” by Jordan Martyr were used with permission from the artists. Go give them money NOW
  • Aside from one or two hiccups, quality is fantastic on this one!
Very frank discussions between four dudes about anything and everything.
  • This episode clocks in almost exactly 2.5 hours.
  • ADHDcast is released under Creative Commons.

Get ready to laugh and/or be confused in three GIGGITY! formats:

Yyyyyyyep. Next time, most likely it will be the tried-and-true formula of Other Mother Lubbers from previous podcasts!

ADHDcast EPISODE VI – Metallurgy Clergy

Darkness descends upon the citizens of the ADHDverse as Niflheim’s sovereign son emerges from the shadows. Get ready for our wacky podcast to take a sinister turn as black metaller Aedylon Issyrol looms within…

On this blackest of nights, discussed will be Bif Naked and her awesomeness, Lady Bathory, hand-me-downs from suicide victims, pet dinosaurs, the horrors of small-town living, D&D versus LOTR, disappointing London Pride, depression, and LaVeyan Satanism versus Buddhism. Also, cake.

Before we rock this pit of vipers, let’s serve up some sizzling-hot credits:

  • Most of the *free* music utilized in this podcast can be found on Archive.org, including but not limited to Mindphaser (mostly as background music), and such metal acts as Ereshkigal, Incursed, and Almighty Apostles.
  • Also, a couple of songs graciously provided with permission by Her Majesty, Lady of Punk, Bif Naked (“Leader” and “My Whole Life“) as background music while I was singing her praises. Go give her/them money NOW
  • Things mentioned: @bifnaked.
  • I worked quite hard on the quality, though I still had the levels on Aedylon’s audio a little too low. I did my best to even it out.
  • This podcast is slightly NSFW due to language and crude humor, and also includes some pretty frank discussion of LaVeyan Satanism, as well as a short discussion on rape. If either of those topics are triggering, you may want to skip to #7 (coming soon).
  • BONUS! Tacked onto the end is a 20-minute conversation with Garrett of ferretwilliams.com, which is an excerpt of a much less entertaining 3-hour conversation. To make it more fun, I sped us up so we sound like The Chipmunks.
  • This episode clocks in at 1h40m, approximately.
  • ADHDcast is released under Creative Commons.

Prepare to embrace the way of METAL in three vicious formats: ADHDcast Episode 6: (mp3) (m4a) (ogg)

And there you have it. Prepare to be amazed next episode when we may or may not have… Christopher Walken! And now you can spend a week wondering how serious I am about that! Ta!

ADHDcast EPISODE V – Bif in a Blender

So how do YOU feel about scrapbooking! Time has come for D. the Deejay to assault your eardrums with his crew! Co-author Brandi Shade returns along with Galaxy Interactive CEO John Waynick and professional ferret Garrett Williams. Y’all ready for this?

This episode, we bandy about such subjects as humidity, Pepper Potts, digital amusement parks and their zoning issues, New 52!, scrapbooking, Napoleon Dynamite and the spinoff cartoon that’s somewhat funnier than itself, BlendShow, most of a DVD collection, Rush Limbaugh and his bigotry, stop-motion animation, and sending pizza into space.

Before we get all ADHD up in here, let’s roll some credits:

  • Most of the *free* music utilized in this podcast can be found on Archive.org, including but not limited to Mindphaser (mostly as background music), and Scott Taylor’s “Sexy Lexy” once again. Also, the music of Alexander Chereshnev, Fascinating Earthbound Objects, Satumnaisuus, and Data Rebel, which can be found on Kahvi.org.
  • The hot as FRAK intro/outro music was graciously provided with permission by Her Majesty, Lady of Punk, Bif Naked (“Sick” and “Crash and Burn” respectively, and also a short clip of “Back in the Day” which I used somewhere in the middle purely because I was shooting the breeze with old friends from high school). Go give her/them money NOW
  • TOTOJOJO‘s “Factory Man” used with permission to chop the podcast in half (though I kind of missed the halfway mark). Check them out, they’re jazzy and snazzy.
  • Things mentioned: BlendShow, NrDidoStStation, Anamanaguchi’s Endless Fantasy video, and those offensive Rush Limbaugh quotes. Also, @KimJongNumberUn, @amber_benson, @PaulRVoigt and @NrDidoStStation.
  • My apologies about it being so difficult to hear Garrett’s interview. This was partly due to Garrett’s microphone, but also partly due to Brandi doing something very noisy right next to hers. I tried to fix it in post, I swear…
  • NEW: subscribe to my YouTube channel to catch VIDEO versions of the interviews! Some of them! It’s in the beta testing stage, but there are already a few clips up there. (WARNING: the clips are unedited and will likely take longer to watch than the audio-only versions that I condense down into my podcast releases.)
  • This podcast is slightly NSFW due to language and crude humor – and it’s not even totally my fault!
  • This episode clocks in at 2h35m, give or take – with a split around the one hour mark.
  • ADHDcast is released under Creative Commons.

That crud out of the way, below you will find links to today’s travesty in three formats:

ADHDcast EPISODE IV – Shades of the Past

Heyyyy, cats and kittens! Time for more zany antics with D. the Deejay and his horde of interlopers! Prepare to be dazzled with the dulcet tones of Brandi Shade as she regales us with the sordid details of her lifetime spent as a nomadic authoress. Also joining us are aspiring rapper Mark Stantz and previous guest, Galaxy Interactive CEO John Waynick.

This episode, our civil discourse includes more reminiscing of times gone by, as well as authorship, “Donks vs. Dinks”, who owes whom a tablet and/or car, the merits of Michael Bay ruining our collective childhoods (again), beer and more beer, how one comes to be known as “sh**head”, the art of Alien, trying to finish a graphic novel one page at a time, microphones, and draining the lizard. Can’t lie to you, folks; it gets pretty rowdy.

Before I provide today’s links to ADHDcast The Fourth, lemme roll the credits:

  • Most of the *free* music utilized in this podcast can be found on Archive.org, including but not limited to Mindphaser and Adhesion (mostly as background music), and Scott Taylor’s “Sexy Lexy” once again. Also, the music of Voyager, which can be found on Kahvi.org.
  • The mind-blowing intro/outro music was graciously provided by The Knocks (pictured above); those songs are “R.O.Y.L.” and “Magic“, respectively. Go give them money NOW
  • Jordan Martyr’s “My Mirror” is available at his Bandcamp. Name your own price, anything from $0 to $bajillion! No waiting!
  • For those of you who have been waiting, YES, now is the episode in which I finally have a half-decent microphone! The quality will become readily apparent the moment I start speaking. I’m as relieved as you are
  • Any questions/suggestions/comments can be submitted to diadae at mail dotkom (that’s an email address I’m spelling out phoenetically to avoid spammbotz), or posted in comments on this blog post. Even if you have audio questions or comments, go right ahead; I can splice them in. This includes questions for any guests, which I’ll bring up next time they’re on the show (if ever… though it’s likely they will be).
  • This podcast is slightly NSFW due to language and crude humor – and it’s not even totally my fault!
  • This podcast clocks in at 3 hours in length. I split it right down the middle into two chapters for convenience, but there will also be a link to an mp3 of the whole darn thing. And yes, next time I’m going to try very, very hard to keep it shorter than this.
  • This podcast is released under Creative Commons.

That stuff out of the way, below you will find links to HRGigerCast in three handy formats:

ADHDcast Episode Four zip files: (mp3) (m4a) (ogg) …and (one long mp3)

Quick note: still accepting bumps from invididuals and/or companies plugging their own podcast/business/band/one-man-play! Anything to the effect of: “Hi, this is Jim Bob of Jim Bob’s Dry Goods and Wedding Planners, LLC, and you’re listening to ADHDcast! Yay!”  Low-quality, high-quality, with or without background music, all of these are irrelevant; just do it and I’ll use it!  If the file is too large for an email we’ll figure out a way to get it done!

Anyhow, thanks for tuning in and I hope you have as much fun listening as I did recording it! Hopefully you’ll be more sober than I was and can remember it better when it’s over! Au revoir!

ADHDcast EPISODE III – The Ferret Galaxy

Remember how last time I said I was thinking about having a friend on the show for an interview? Well, it kind of expanded into something much larger.

Today’s release features myself, along with co-hosts Garrett Williams (of Ferret Williams fame) and John Waynick (of Galaxy Interactive), both of whom are friends and former bandmates. It stars with me at least attempting to interview people before it quickly falls apart into talking about whatever, though it by no means becomes less entertaining in the process.  We were later joined by Joseph Marin and Joe Wilhems, members of John’s game design team and also cool guys. Yes, they are both named Joe.

This episode, The_Boys discuss “ye good ole days”, cartooning (or is that “cartoonisting”? “cartoonistism”?), game design and its many quandaries, eating the neighbors, writing books and short stories, cosplay, secretive projects being created secretly, what on earth a podcast is supposed to actually be, fish tacos, and Angelina Jolie‘s preemptive mastectomy.

Before I provide the links to ADHDcast Numero Trés, we roll the credits:

  • Most of the music utilized in this podcast can be found on Archive.org, including but not limited to “Black Bit” by Krang! (which was used as the signature tune), Mindphaser (mostly as background music), and Scott Taylor’s “Sexy Lexy” (because, y’know… John is Mr. Luthor).
  • Jordan Martyr’s “Push Come To Shove” is, yet again, available at his Bandcamp. Name your own price, anything from $0 to $bajillion!
  • The quality is crap. I tried to configure my recoridng equipment (this means my laptop and headset) so my voice would come in clear, but my mic so quiet I’m almost inaudible. I PROMISE YOU, this will not be the case next time, and I did as much work as possible to fix this episode before it went out, but it’s still not fantastic. Also, I have ordered a better mic. Please bear with me!
  • This podcast is slightly NSFW due to language (and some crude humor).  Come on, it’s five guys talking.  What did you expect?
  • This podcast clocks in at 2 hours and 45 minutes. I split it into three chapters for convenience, but there will also be a link to an mp3 of the whole darn thing.
  • This podcast is released under Creative Commons.

That stuff out of the way, below you will find links to ADHDcast-O-Rama in three handy formats:

ADHDcast Episode Three zip files: (mp3) (m4a) (ogg) …and (one long mp3)

Quick note: if anybody wants to record a little “bump” plugging their own podcast/business/band/one-man-circus, please let me know!

Well, I hope you enjoy the oddness! Next time, I hope to have my co-authoress “Shade” on board, and possibly a few past guests will return. It’s gonna be a kick in a glass!
